Rise Above It All
I am sure at some point of our lives we have been disappinted either in relationships, careers, and /or social situations; however, should we continue to carry that around with us... a victim mentality? No we should not. If you always see yourself as a victim, you will always be a victim, whether it be a victim of assault, incest and/or racial prejudice. Sooner or later one has to regain power... power over themselves, their lives and their emotions. A power that allows them the ability to "live", think and focus.
I have worked with so many people that saw themselves as victims and I have found that they wasted so many precious years of their lives with a victim mentality. By the time they took charge of their mindsets, they had missed out on so many opportunities that were available to them and time waits for noone. Why did they miss out? Well, this is a code that many successful people live by that works for them. "You can die from someone else's misery." It's as simple as that. Like I always say, "mindsets are as contagious as the common cold."
So, my point is, take charge of your thoughts and actions. Remember, "emotion filled thoughts become things". Don't waste precious years of your life away seeing yourself as a victim.
OK, it's time to share. I am sure that if this does not apply to you, that it applies to someone you know. Maybe a client, a student, a teacher, a friend, a family member, a boss and/or an employee. Have them subscribe before it's too late. "When you seek out revenge you may as well dig two graves, yours and theirs." Rise above anything anyone has done for you.

It's O.K. to Want More
Desire. What is stronger than unadulterated desire? Not much. Do you have dreams burning a hole in your soul and people are telling you to let them go... to settle for what you have? Well, you do not have to accept your life the way it is. There is nothing wrong with wanting more. To want a position you enjoy, peace of mind, a degree, a safe and nice home, a loving relationship with those who care about you, a mate that appreciates and respects you, a dream. Everything that currently exists was once a dream.
Unfortunately, not everyone will be comfortable with your dreams. In fact, you may find that most people are not comfortable with your dreams for various reasons. When this occurs keep in mind that history, which I consider the most important subject one could study, tells us that these are normal behaviors. When pursuing dreams remember that adversity will occur. One has to accept adversity as a part of the process, in other words as a fact and not a fear. The dreamers of the past often met much resistance in the pursuit of their dreams. Instead of spending their time getting even, they spent their time getting ahead. When their adversaries attacked them, they shined brighter than ever. This is why it is imperative to surround yourself with those that share your visions, those with minds like yours... dreamers. I call these individuals a "dream team". Do you have a dream team? If you do not have a dream team, get one and meet with them often. Remember, history is not only being read, it is being written by dreamers.
Attitude. How important is attitude when achieving success? Extremely important. In ones quest to achieve more we must maintain a positive attitude.
Now, one should keep in mind that we do not typically get what we want in life, we get who we are. So, often we have to look at ourselves and as Gandhi stated, "we have to be the change we wish to see in the world." We'll, I say sometimes "we have to be the change we want to see in our worlds". If you want more, be more. It may not be easy; however, if one's desire is great enough dreams do come true. Enjoy your weekend.

Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

ENVY IS THE TAX
Envy is the tax that all distinction must pay. What will you do when the tax man comes? Run from envy? Quit? Give up? Or, pursue your dreams? Focus? Accomplish your goals? Live your life?
Distinction can be graduating from college, securing a promotion, finding the love of your life, running a successful business, having a bigger house than your neighbor and/or loving yourself. It came be something as small as being different... being you. To you, it's nothing. To someone else, it's everything because not everyone has the courage to be themselves.
So, I ask again, what will you do when the tax man comes? After all, even Jesus was persecuted.
Do you have a personal story of success explaining how you overcame envy? If so, reply to this message with two paragraphs explaining what worked for you. My college students will pick the must encouraging story and that story will be distributed to my readers on Xmas eve. Stories must be received by noon on 12/10/2007. Please include the email address you used to subscribe to this newsletter. Also, please include what information you want disclosed in the newsletter, such as name, email address, web-site, etc.
